...how does your garden grow?

As I posted in the past, Daniel and I have started a vegetable garden this year and it is growing so big. We can hardly wait until we get to taste the 'veggies' of our labors. We did plant some strawberries, and we have already got to taste a few of those. In our garden, we have tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, watermelon, strawberries, carrots, cilantro, basil, oregano, pumpkins and corn. The corn has been growing so fast, which is fun to see. I am not getting my hopes up for eatting any of our corn, though, I hear it is hard to get the ears to germinate. We have lots of green tomatoes, cucumbers, some squash and zucchini already on the vines. The carrots are getting big as well. It has been fun to watch everything.

To get the yard ready to plant, Daniel (with help from his parents) did a lot of work. They pulled out bushes, weeds, trees, and dirt. While pulling everything out, we found a few 'treasures'. There were lots of old bricks, a tire full of concrete, stones, a concrete bowl of some sort and other things. Here are some of the small 'treasures' that we found as we dug and racked and tilled the yard.

My munchkin is a little munchkin

Lucy had her four month checkup at the doctor on friday and we got to find out how much she has grown. She also had to get shot, and she did really well. She only cried for a little bit. So here are her stats...

Weight - 12 lbs 6 oz (I feel like she is getting so big, but she is only in the 17th percentile for weight. The doctor wasn't concerned, though, he thinks that she is just a small baby)
Height - 24.5 in (40th percentile)
Head - 16.5 in (73rd percentile, yep that's right. She has a big head. Hopefully that means she will be very smart!!)

This is Lucy helping me make a cake for Daniel's birthday.

Lucy and Daniel on Father's Day all ready for church!

Lucy has definitely started grasping at things. The other day, I went in her room and this is what I found. Her head band was around her eyes and she had her bow in her mouth :)

Happy Birthday Daniel!!

Daniel turns 28 today!! I am so grateful to have Daniel in my life. He is such an amazing husband and he puts up with my 'craziness' all the time. He is an great dad and loves Lucy so much. He has done a fantastic job taking care of her these past three months. I know that she will miss hanging out with him as he goes back to work. Daniel has been studying hard to take his life insurance tests and Lucy and I are so proud of him. He is working so hard so that sometime soon, I will be able to stay home with Lucy. Daniel loves unconditionally, is kind and fun, honors the priesthood, is a loyal friend and a fabulous husband and father.
I love you so much honey and I hope that you have a great day.
Lucy wishes you a happy birthday too and is so glad that you are her dad!

Lucy at 4 months

Little Lucy is 4 months old now, and we can't believe how fast time flies! She is so darlying and we love her so much. Here are some things about Lucy...

1. She drools constantly!!!
2. She loves to smile and laugh and thinks it is pretty cool to talk. We will hear her talking to herself and it is so cute. She makes the funniest noises.
3. She loves to hang out with Daniel and watch tv or play video games. Lately she likes to sit with her Daniel while he studies.
4. She loves OtterPops.
5. She sleeps with her hands behind her head most of the time.
6. She is really good at sleeping at night. Most of the time I get to sleep from 10:30 to 6:30.
7. She rolls from her tummy to her back and can get from her back to her side.
8. She loves to chew on her hands and I think it is really cute when her thumb is in her mouth (I know I will probably regret that one day)
9. She likes to sit in the bouncy seat and grab for her toys and pull on them.
10. She loves to watch her mobiles even though I took the sound out.
11. I cannot keep a blanket on her at night because she kicks her legs all the time. I wrap it underneath her and put another one on top to try and weigh it down, but it doesn't work. The other morning I went in to get her and the blanket was over the top half of her body and her little legs were sticking straight up in the air and I could see her wiggling underneath the blanket.
12. She makes her parents melt each time she smiles!!
