babysitter
So, our babysitter called when we were in California and gave us her two weeks notice. It couldn't have been worse timing, because I leave in two days for Germany and Daniel just had surgery on his arm. Now we need to find a new babysitter, along with everything else that is going on.
So...if you know anyone who might be interested, please have them give me or Daniel a call. We are looking for someone who will give her love and attention. Smoke free, LDS home, in Sugarhouse, Holiday, or downtown area is prefered. We need someone to watch her Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from about 7:30 to 4:00 pm, depending on where they are located. We can't pay a ton, but it would be a little extra income for a stay-at-home mom or someone who is interested.
Lucy is 6 months old!
Lucy is 6 months old now, and I can't believe how fast time has gone and how much she changed everyday. She is army crawling and moving all over the place, and pretty soon she will get the crawling thing figured out. We have so much fun with her and can't imagine life without her.
There is so much else to blog about, california, disneyland, daniel's wrist and Lucy, but it might have to wait a week or so because I am off to Germany on Friday for work. It should be a neat trip, but I am so sad to leave Lucy and Daniel, especially since Daniel is kind of crippled right now.
I couldn't get this first picture to load right, but it is a picture of Lucy and Gracie at the beach.
This is Lucy and Daniel at disneyland on the Jungle Cruise.

Poor Daniel
3 days, 12 hours travel in a car, lots of pit stops and picnics in parks and parking lots, 5 minutes at the beach and this is how our day ended, not even 24 hours after arriving in CA.
So here is the story....
We decided to drive to CA in two legs, so we stayed the night in Las Vegas. Lucy did really well on the drive, but she was ready for a break when we got to Las Vegas.
Here she is eating some grapes through her little mesh spoon.
Ally and James had fun playing at the ball diamond in Nephi.
Lucy ''reading" her book
Then we finally made it to San Juan Capistrano. We didn't do much saturday night (eat dinner and get some groceries) so today we decided to go to the beach. Daniel, Sam, and Jon headed out into the waves, and after two waves, Daniel came up out of the water holding his wrist in pain. The life guards came over and said it definitely looked like a break, so Grandma Lu, Lucy and Amy took Daniel to the hospital to get it checked out.
We were at the hospital for about 3 hours and here are some pics of our stay.
Lucy really liked playing with her Daddy's hospital bracelet.
Here is a picture of Daniel's wrist, you can't really tell in this picture, but it looked deformed and gross.
After a nap and some pain pills, Daniel is feeling pretty good, but we are all sad that he can't swim and play in the water anymore while we are here. He has a splint on now, and will have to get a cast on when we get back to SLC.
Tonight we pulled out the poker set Daniel and I got from our wedding and played a little Texas hold 'em. It is down to Daniel, Sam and Ben (Ben has a considerable lead at the moment)
Jonathan didn't want to play, but he also didn't want to go to bed and miss out on all the action, so he fell asleep on the couch so that he could be a part of everything.
Hopefully, Daniel will still be able to play and have fun with us, at the very least he might come back with an odd tan line on his arm. We still have Disneyland, more beach, Conan (for some of us) and lots of food left to enjoy here in sunny California!
