Our family has had a busy couple of weeks. On July 22nd, Daniel’s grandma had a heart attack and peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 24th. These are some pictures from when she got home from her mission about a year and a half ago. We will miss her and all her crazy ways. She was a great genealogist and missionary. It was very sudden and still doesn’t seem real. She has always been so active.
With the funeral and everything else, we were able to have Shelly, Susan, and the kids come stay with us for almost a week. Lucy LOVED having the kids here and still asks where they are. It was so fun to spend time with them, but Daniel and I had to work and it rained a lot that week, so we didn’t get to do much while they were here.
We did get to play outside for a little.
Baby Jayce. He is one day older than Whitney, but seems so much older. He is crawling, pulling himself up, eating real food, and constantly moving. He was always in our kitchen, going through the drawers. He also has about 5 lbs on Whitney. He has such a cute smile! It was fun to see him and Whitney together.
The kids wrestled with Daniel a few times
The played in the rain
We fed the ducks
And there was lots of this…..
And despite the rain, we even got in some swimming.
Last Friday, we got a phone call from my brother, Jon, inviting us to Bear Lake that night. So, at about 8 pm, we hurried and packed up the cars and the kids and headed to Bear Lake for the weekend.
Lucy had a fun time playing in the sand and finding sea shells.
Lucy has been posing a lot lately.
More posing….
We had a great time with Jon, Briana, and Baby Matthew. We was nice to get away for just a little bit.
Now, a little about Whitney. I have hardly documented her life and am felling a little guilty. She is the cutest little thing and we love her to pieces. She has gotten really fast army crawling and can pretty much get wherever she wants to go. She has the cutest smiles and the brightest eyes. Lucy calls her Ninny, but in this last week has started calling her Whitters and loves to make her smile. She likes to jabber and blow zobbers. She has started to say , dadada, which Daniel loves. She sleeps great at night. I am planning on nursing for another month and then stopping. I am starting to have mixed emotions about that. I don’t like pumping at work, but I don’t mind nursing at home and it means she is growing up. She is at such a cute stage right now and I just want to make it last a little longer.
Lucy is growing up and is such a cute little girl. She likes to make Whitney smile. She likes to sing the ABCs, reading But No Elephants (which she pretty much has memorized), she can count to 11 or 12, she knows most of her colors, animal sounds, and body parts. She talks all the time and we can understand most of it. She is really in to birthdays right now. She is always singing or saying happy birthday to us and will often bring us random toys or things that are “birthday cakes”. She is going on the potty a lot lately, but mostly when we remind her. She has gone in public restrooms a few times and we are hoping she will decide to stop going in her diaper on her own. Daniel is battling the thumb sucking right now, but it isn’t going so well. She is such a cute girl and loves to give hugs and kisses. We love her so much!
